For my Senior Year Graphic Design Degree Project, I focused on belief, specifically how it acts as a framework for exploring and understanding the world. I entered this project wanting to challenge the beliefs people inherit without realizing where they come from, as well as the systems that reinforce these narratives, particularly those that may be harmful to marginalized communities. Through my research, I developed a better understanding of how beliefs function in everyday life, how people come to adopt them, how they spread and evolve over time, and how unchecked beliefs can lead to unintended, tangible consequences. The entirety of my process is documented in the research report below, covering primary and secondary research, concept maps and key findings, journey maps and personas, and where I intervened.
The images below showcase the physical deliverable for my degree project: a self-guided belief journal that walks the reader through what a belief is using increasingly critical questions and thought excercises.
This is the stall I put together for the Graphic Design senior show, where all the senior Design students showcased their Degree projects.
This is the initial concept map where I begin to make connections between key words, concepts, and ideas, organizing them into different categories.
For my Degree Project midterm presentation, I consolidated all the research I had done up to that point, and honed in on my project deliverable.
